What’s new for our members in 2018?

As 2017 draws to a close, we’d like to thank our members for their continued support this year. Your participation keeps our community strong and enables us to be an influential voice in the tax and SMSF industry.

This is also a great time to reflect on some of the exciting initiatives that Tax & Super Australia has recently launched for its members. We are committed to listening to our members’ feedback and developing resources and solutions that address their needs.

New breakfast discussion groups
We are excited to offer new breakfast tax discussion groups in Melbourne and Sydney in 2018. Commencing in February and run once a month, these interactive and informative sessions will be predominantly presented by Peter Adams, our Senior Counsel, as well as other leading tax experts. The breakfast sessions are designed to minimise disruption to your work day and will be hosted in convenient, centrally located venues.

Our discussion groups are a great way to stay abreast of the latest tax developments, secure valuable CPD points and interact with your peers and colleagues. We encourage all of our members to tap into this community and support network, which offers a valuable source of information-sharing. Members receive a significant discount on their attendance.

Two separate sessions will be held in Melbourne’s CBD on the first Tuesday and second Wednesday of each month, respectively. Our Sydney session will be held at Karstens on the first Thursday of each month. All breakfast sessions will run from 7.30am to 9.00am. For more information, visit our seminars page.

New partnerships to benefit our members
We are committed to developing meaningful partnerships with organisations that can benefit our member community. We have recently partnered with audit service provider Assured Super to develop an exclusive member-only audit package.

The all-inclusive and competitive package has a fixed price of $380 (plus GST) for our members, regardless of fund size and complexity. This fee also covers the costs of disbursements for title searches and company searches.

The Assured Super team are regarded as technical experts in the SMSF field and provide a fully compliant third-party audit – all completed in Australia. They offer a 15-minute free consultation with an expert as an introductory bonus and fast turnaround time of five business days. To find out more, or to begin the process of ordering an SMSF annual audit, visit our Assured Super partner page.

Building partnerships is an ongoing effort, and in 2018 we will have a particular focus on working with new organisations to secure exclusive benefits for our members. Watch this space for further announcements about exciting new partnership benefits.

Hassle-free CPD solutions
Every tax practitioner has specific and sometimes differing needs. For this reason, we provide a range of “add-on” solutions to help meet practitioners’ unique circumstances. These add-ons are available exclusively to members of Tax & Super Australia.

In 2017, we successfully launched the CPDpro add-on for members who want a no-fuss pathway to fulfilling the CPD requirements of the Tax Practitioners Board. We have received very positive early feedback from members, who like the convenience and value for money it provides.

The package bundles over 30 hours of structured and unstructured learning through webinars, newsletters, podcasts and other publications. Subscribers also receive useful notifications and a CPD tracker. Starting from $189 for qualifying tax agents who agree to become voting members of our TPB-registered tax agent association, TAI Practitioners & Advisers Ltd, this is great value for money and an easy way to eliminate the stress of finding CPD events.
